About Us
Hello Bluebird is a brick-and-mortar boutique and gallery located in the charming historic shopping district of West Reading, PA. Opened in September 2009, owner Alex McCarty is a plucky gal who prefers maryjanes and pigtails to heels and a suit, and took the plunge to launching her shop in an effort to build her life and business on her own (sometimes quirky but always authentic) terms.
Hello Bluebird’s shelves are chock full with an eclectic blend of handcrafted, eco-friendly and socially-conscious goods. In short, we sell lovely things made by good people.
Since our launch, we have represented about 250 independent artists at the shop. We rotate seasonally thematic shows for our wall art, and try to accent them with a selection of complimentary handmade goods. Besides that, we just like to fill the shop with super cool stuff in a range of quirky styles for our loving customers to admire and purchase. In December 2010, we were voted by local shoppers “Best In Berks” for local gift shop (Berks County Living Magazine).

Monday : appt only
Tuesday : 11-5:30
Wednesday : 11-5:30
Thursday : 11-7 (open until 8pm on First Thursdays)
Friday : 11-6
Saturday : 11-6
Sundays : closed for the winter, open again once the world wakes up from its winter slumber!
Please be advised that all of these hours are “ISH” and subject to change. We are a family business with a genuine FAMILY in the mix, and we just never can predict what adventures any given day will bring!
