Put a Bird On It
I would say that, at least once every few weeks, someone asks me, “Hey! Have you ever seen that sketch from Portlandia?”
Portlandia, for those who haven’t yet had the pleasure, is an IFC sketch comedy show that pokes fun of Portland and–well, basically, most of the issues and trends that tend to consume MY brain and aesthetic, all the way over here on the east coast! Free-range, organic, hipster malarkey that, yes, is incredibly important to me, but, yes, is worthy of a good laugh from time to time. I love being an idealist, but I also know how to keep it real, haha!
Anyway, the reason they are asking if I’ve seen the show is because of this clip. It’s hilariously perfect for Hello Bluebird! :

Good Thing 22/365 : Made dinner for friends and family. Tortilla soup!
Good For : Our sense of community and connection. Grown up friends are rare and wonderful! It’s a good idea to bribe them with food and Girl Scout cookies once in a while, so they’ll hang around a few more years…
